After a decade in the music industry as a producer, singer, rapper, and sound engineer from Paris to Canada to Los Angeles, FREI now calls Madrid home. Here, he has shaped a signature sound, unveiled in his debut solo release DimeQueSí: a vibrant reggaetón track rooted in Latin music. Blending the city’s energy with reflections on his own journey, FREI writes from life, capturing the pulse of Madrid while looking back on the experiences that brought him here.
With DimeQueSí, FREI achieves more than a personal milestone. He makes history as the first independent artist to release a reggaetón song in Dolby Atmos, bringing immersive, multidimensional sound to the genre in a way that has previously only been championed by major-label stars. The release signals a new era for independent Latin music creators who are pushing boundaries and embracing cutting-edge audio technology without the backing of traditional industry giants.
The track itself embodies FREI’s unique approach: a fusion of reggaetón rhythms with melodic depth, lyrical honesty, and production quality that reflects his years of behind-the-scenes experience. The Atmos mix allows listeners to feel surrounded by the music, basslines, percussion, and vocals move dynamically through space, creating an experience that mirrors the energy of a live performance.
Speaking about the release, FREI shared: “This song represents my journey, my independence, and my love for reggaetón. To release it in Dolby Atmos as my first solo track is about giving fans the most authentic and powerful experience possible.” DimeQueSí is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Music in Dolby Atmos. With this historic release, FREI sets a bold precedent proving that independent artists can lead the way in both artistry and innovation.
